ToughRock® Fireguard X® Abuse-Resistant Gypsum Board

An abuse-resistant Type X product (as defined in ASTM C1396). It is designed for wall assemblies in high-traffic areas where surface durability and indentation resistance are especially important, such as schools, hospitals, corrections facilities and offices.

When tested in accordance with ASTM C1629, the board meets Level 2 for surface abrasion; and Level 1 for indentation resistance and soft-body impact.

Details

  • 5/8" (16.9mm) ToughRock® Fireguard X® Abuse Resistant Gypsum Board is UL classified for use in a variety of fire-rated wood and steel-framed assemblies. Search the assemblies library for details.
  • Heavy-duty face paper, along with an enhanced core, offer greater resistance to abrasion, rubbing, scraping, gouging and indentation.
  • Consists of a noncombustible (as described and tested in accordance with ASTM E136), dimensionally stable gypsum core formed between a face layer of heavy, smooth, abuse-resistant paper and a back layer of heavy liner paper. It provides a superior surface for decoration.
  • The surfaces of both faces and on the long edges are 100% recycled paper. The front face paper is ivory; the back face paper is grey. The long edges are tapered and the ends are square cut.
