FireDefender® fire-rated door components include individual fire-rated components, fully banded cores, and the industry’s foremost offering of fire-rated acoustical cores. Georgia-Pacific is a major supplier of fire-rated door components. GP manufactures components, not doors. We concentrate on developing, testing, certification and manufacture of a full range of high-performance fire door components. Ask about our ISO 9001:2000 certification!

Doors built with FireDefender components using our specifications can carry the Warnock Hersey label, and our fire testing yields an extensive set of manufacturing and machining specifications. Select door assemblies with Georgia-Pacific mineral core and 3-ply high density cores are tested* to achieve a range of Sound Transmission Class (STC) ratings while at the same time achieving 45- to 90-minute fire ratings.

International Listings

Georgia-Pacific components have been used successfully in more than a dozen countries around the world. FireDefender® components are included in a number of assembly listings that have been tested in accordance with UL 10C and British Standard BS476, part 22, and are eligible to carry the BM TRADA Q-Mark.

Excellent thermal properties, and can be pieced together to fill doors up to 4x10 feet.

  • Approved for use in temperature rise applications in fire-rated wood doors
